Shooting on my campus
There has just been a shooting at the university where my wife and I work. CNN's currently saying there are two dead and one in stable condition, one suspect in custody and three others still at large.

We're both OK -- neither of us was on or anywhere near campus when it happened -- but feeling a little shaken.

Oh, crud. Glad to hear you (and your wife) are all right. My daughters lived in Conway for almost six years, and some of my oldest daughter's friends probably attend the university. I hope none of them are among the hurt or dead (yes, that's selfish of me...I'm sad that anyone was hurt, but since I can't change that, I can only hope that the tragedy doesn't touch anyone I know other than you, personally).

UCA is our neighborhood, and suddenly I don't feel as safe anymore.

Don't know yet -- their names haven't been released. There are rumors on assorted websites, but that's all they are -- rumors. The university is supposed to hold a press conference at 9:00 this morning; we may know more then.

Update: Neither of the two students who were killed were in my classes, or in Mandy's. Still, it's got us both feeling bummed.
